Silvia Cambie is an award-winning expert in strategic communication, social media campaigns and stakeholder relations. Silvia and The European Training Foundation  won the 2011 Gold Quill Award of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), the “Oscar” of professional communications, and an IABC’s EMErald Award.

She is the author of “International Communications Strategy – Developments in cross-cultural communications, PR and social media” published by Kogan Page and nominated for the FT Goldman Sachs Awards 2009.

Her background includes reporting from Central and Eastern Europe, from a base in Prague in the early 1990s, for major German and British print media as well as managing communication for Brussels-based international trade associations.

With 18 years of experience, Silvia has designed communication campaigns for the European Parliament, the European Investment Bank, USAID, EUROCONTROL, the Chilean Economic Development Agency, UniCredit , RBS, Deutsche Bank, Tetra Pak, GSK, the United Nations Development Programme and the World Health Organisation. The social media strategy she developed for the European Training Foundation, an agency of the European Union, has won IABC’s Gold Quill and EMErald Awards 2011.

She is a recognized public speaker and has addressed audiences worldwide including South Africa, Russia, Malaysia, Dubai, Chile, the US, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Spain and the UK. Silvia has lectured at the Sorbonne University (Paris), London Metropolitan University and San Sebastian University (Santiago).

Silvia speaks five languages and, from 2007 to 2010, served on the executive board of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
